One of my favorite things to do when I have free time– haha, free time– is to study the work of other photographers. This helps me to hone my style and my aesthetic. When I stumbled across the work of Catherine Giroux out of Montreal, I was completely memorized and the concept of lifestyle portraiture caught my heart. This shoot was inspired by her work. As luck would have it, a Realtor I shoot for was listing this amazing vacant farmhouse property. The minute I walked inside, I was entranced by the light and the hardwood floors. The owners of the property were kind enough to allow me to use it to shoot and then I met Katie and a young professionals networking event. Isn’t she gorgeous?  It seemed that it was meant to be because it all came together so beautifully.

This shoot is one of the pieces I am most proud of so far, so I hope you enjoy it.

If you want to see great work in a similar genre, look up Catherine Giroux. Her blogs are completely in French, so you may just have to take the work at face value like me….unless you speak French, in which case feel free to translate them for me!
